About Webcam Recorder
Record a video of yourself for a message, a video application, a lesson or a rehearsal. Pick the camera, decide whether to record sound and press Start. A countdown of three or five seconds gives you time to get ready, and the live picture and a timer show while you record.
You can pause and resume. When you stop, the video appears in a player so you can watch it before saving. The preview can be mirrored so it feels natural, and the saved video shows you the right way round. A resolution of 1280 by 720 is a good balance between sharpness and file size.

What format is the video?
The format your browser records in, usually WebM or MP4. Both play in most browsers and video players.
Why is there no sound?
Check that Record sound with the microphone is ticked, and that you allowed the microphone as well as the camera.
How can I make the file smaller?
Pick a lower resolution, such as 640 by 480, and keep recordings short.
Is the saved video mirrored?
No. Mirror mode only affects the live preview. The saved video shows you as others see you.
How long can I record?
There is no set limit, but long recordings make large files and use memory. Stop and save every so often.
Can I trim the video afterwards?
This page records and saves the whole take. To remove the start or end, use a video editor, or record again after a short practice. A countdown helps you start cleanly so there is little to cut off.
