About Audio Trimmer
Most recordings contain more than you need: a long silence at the start, a cough at the end, or one good sentence in a ten minute clip. This trimmer shows the sound as a waveform so you can see where the parts are. Drag near the start or end of the part you want and the nearest handle moves there. The shaded areas outside the handles are cut away.
For exact cuts you can type the start and end in seconds. Add a short fade in or out to avoid clicks, play the selection to check it and download the result as a WAV file. It opens MP3, M4A, OGG, FLAC and WAV files, and can read the sound track of many video files too.

Frequently asked questions
Which file types can I open?
Common types such as MP3, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC and WAV, plus the sound of many MP4 and WebM videos. What opens depends on what your browser can play.
Why is the download a WAV file?
WAV keeps the sound at full quality and plays almost everywhere. It is larger than an MP3, so a ten minute stereo clip can be over 100 MB.
How do I avoid a click at the cut?
Add a fade of 0.05 to 0.2 seconds at the start and end. The sound then rises and falls smoothly.
Can I cut several parts?
Each download is one continuous part. To keep several parts, trim and save each in turn.
Is there a size limit?
Files over 150 MB are refused, and very long recordings use a lot of memory. Cut very long files into shorter parts first.
