About Video to MP3

Video to MP3 takes the sound track out of a video and saves it as an MP3 file you can play on any phone, car stereo or music app. Pick the quality, choose mono if you want a smaller file, listen to the result and download it.

If you would rather keep the sound untouched, save it as WAV instead, which is larger but not compressed. If the browser cannot read the sound in your video, you are told, and videos over 1 GB are not accepted because they need too much memory.

How to use Video to MP3

  1. Choose a video file.
  2. Pick MP3 or WAV, a quality and mono or stereo.
  3. Select Extract audio.
  4. Play the result to check it, then download it.

Frequently asked questions

Which quality should I choose?

128 kbps is a good size for speech and everyday listening. 192 kbps or more suits music. A higher number gives a bigger file.

Why can the sound not be read?

The video may have no sound, or use an audio format the browser cannot open. Try another browser or a different file.

When should I pick WAV?

Choose WAV if you plan to edit the sound afterwards, because it is not compressed. It is much larger than MP3.

Is there a size limit?

Videos over 1 GB are not accepted. Cut a shorter clip if yours is bigger.
