About Round Robin Fixture Generator
A round robin is the fairest way to run a small league or a group stage: every team plays every other team. This generator takes your list of teams and lays out the whole schedule round by round, so you can print it or paste it into a message. With an even number of teams, every team plays once in each round. With an odd number, one team has a bye each round, and the schedule needs one more round.
Fixtures are produced with the circle method, in which one team stays in place while the others rotate around it, so that every pair meets exactly once. Home and away roles are then alternated, so no team has more than two home or two away games in a row in a single round robin. Tick the double option and every pairing is repeated with home and away swapped, which is the usual format for a league season.

Frequently asked questions
How many matches are in a round robin?
With n teams there are n times (n minus 1) divided by 2 matches. Six teams play 15 matches, ten teams play 45, and a double round robin has twice as many.
How many rounds are there?
With an even number of teams it is one less than the number of teams, so six teams need five rounds. With an odd number it equals the number of teams, because one team sits out each round.
What is a bye?
A round in which a team has no opponent because there is an odd number of teams. Each team gets exactly one bye in a single round robin.
Are home and away games balanced?
Yes, as far as the numbers allow. In a single round robin with an even number of teams, each team's home and away games differ by at most one, and nobody has more than two of the same in a row.
Can I choose who plays first?
The order of the list decides the pairings in each round. Shuffle the list if you want a different draw. Every team still plays every other team.
