About PDF Page Size Checker
Before you print or send a PDF it helps to know what size its pages are. Is it A4 or Letter? Is every page the same? Choose a PDF and this tool lists the page sizes in millimetres, inches and points, names the standard paper where one matches, and groups the pages by size so mixed files stand out.
Sizes are read from the visible area of each page, after any turn stored in the file, so a page stored on its side shows as landscape. A page is named A4, A5, US Letter and so on if it is within a millimetre of that paper in either direction. Points are the unit PDFs use inside: 72 points make an inch, so an A4 page is about 595 by 842 points. If the file mixes sizes, the table shows which pages have which size, so you can decide whether to bring them to one size before printing.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know if my PDF is A4?
Choose it here. A4 is 210 by 297 millimetres, or about 8.27 by 11.69 inches, or 595 by 842 points. The table names it A4 if the page matches.
What are points?
A point is 1/72 of an inch, the unit PDFs use for page sizes and text. To convert points to millimetres, multiply by 25.4 and divide by 72.
What does Custom size mean?
It means the page does not match any of the standard papers listed, within about a millimetre. It could be a screen-shaped page, a poster or a drawing.
Why does a landscape page show the same name?
Paper names do not depend on direction. A landscape A4 page is still A4, and the table shows the direction separately as Landscape.
Does it change my PDF?
No. The tool only reads the page sizes and shows them. Your file is not altered, and nothing is downloaded.
