About Maths Worksheet Generator
A maths worksheet generator saves the time it takes to write practice questions by hand. Choose a year group from Year 1 to Year 6, tick the kinds of question you want, and the page writes a sheet for you with a name and date line and as many questions as you ask for. Press the button for a new set whenever you need another copy, so every child can have a different sheet.
The numbers are chosen to match what the National Curriculum for England expects at each age. Year 1 adds and takes away within 20, Year 2 within 100, Year 3 to three digits, and Year 4 to four digits, with the times tables up to 12 × 12. Years 5 and 6 move on to larger numbers, multiplying by two digits and long division. The answer key is generated from the same questions, so the two always match.

Frequently asked questions
What does each year group cover?
Year 1 adds and subtracts within 20 and uses the 2, 5 and 10 times tables. Year 2 works within 100. Year 3 uses numbers up to 999 and the 3, 4 and 8 tables as well. Year 4 uses four-digit numbers and all tables to 12 × 12. Year 5 uses numbers up to 99,999 with multiplication by one or two digits, and Year 6 uses long multiplication and long division.
Are the answers always correct?
Yes. Each answer is worked out from the numbers in the question when the question is written. Taking away never goes below zero, and division always comes out exactly with no remainder.
Can I use decimals?
From Year 4 up, a tick box adds decimals to the adding and taking away questions: one decimal place in Year 4 and two in Years 5 and 6.
Can I print more than one copy?
Yes. Press Print as often as you like. If you want different questions on each copy, press New questions between prints.
Will it work for a different curriculum?
The year groups follow England. The question types are common to most primary curricula, so it works elsewhere if you choose the year that matches the skill you need.
