Typing Speed Test について
A typing speed test shows how quickly you can type a passage of ordinary text and how many of your key presses are correct. Many adults type somewhere between 30 and 45 words per minute, although regular practice can raise that figure a great deal. This test gives you a choice of 30 or 60 seconds, which suits a quick check or a longer warm up. The passage appears above the box, and each letter turns green or red as you type, so you can see your progress as you go.
Your score is worked out in the usual way. Every five correct characters count as one word, including spaces and punctuation, and the total is divided by the length of the test in minutes. Accuracy shows what share of your key presses were correct, and a mistake is counted each time a wrong key is typed, even if you fix it later. Results are kept only while the page is open, so you can compare your best score during a session and try again whenever you like.

よくあるご質問
What is a good typing speed?
Many adults type between 35 and 45 words per minute, and an average of around 40 is typical for everyday work. Typists in office jobs often reach 60 or more, while skilled typists can go well beyond 100. Accuracy matters as much as speed, so aim for steady, correct typing first and let the pace rise naturally with practice over time.
How are words per minute calculated?
Each group of five correct characters counts as one word, and spaces and punctuation are included in the count. The total is then divided by the number of minutes in the test. Mistakes you have not corrected are removed from the score, so the figure reflects the text you actually left on the screen when the time ran out.
Why does accuracy matter?
Accuracy shows how many of your key presses were correct, and it matters because speed without accuracy leaves more time spent fixing errors. A test that shows high speed but low accuracy suggests that you are rushing. Slowing down slightly often raises your overall score, because you spend less time on corrections and keep your rhythm steady.
Is my result saved?
Results are not kept anywhere once you leave the page. Your best score is only kept while this page stays open, so it resets when you close or reload the page. If you want a record, use the copy button and paste the result into a note or a message to keep it for later.
Can I use a different keyboard?
Yes. The test works with any keyboard connected to your computer. Results can differ between keyboards because key travel, spacing and layout change how quickly you can type. Try the same passage on a few keyboards to see which one suits you best, and compare results from tests of the same length to keep things fair.
