About Image Compare Slider

Small differences are easy to miss when you flip between two pictures. Showing them in the same frame with a movable divider makes changes obvious. Choose a before picture and an after picture, then drag across the preview: the left side shows the first and the right side shows the second.

Use it to check a retouch, an edit, the effect of compressing or resizing a picture, or two versions of a design. If the pictures are different sizes, the second is scaled to fill the first and the page tells you so. When you have the view you want, save it as a picture with the Before and After labels to share your comparison.

How to use Image Compare Slider

  2. Drag across the preview or use the slider to move the divider.

  4. Save the view as a picture if you want to share it.

  • Presenting a room or garden makeover

Frequently asked questions

Do both pictures need to be the same size?

It is best if they are, so every detail lines up. If they differ, the second one is scaled to fill the first and may be cropped.

How do I move the divider?

Click or drag on the picture, or use the slider underneath. The arrow keys work once the slider is selected.

Can I save the comparison?

Yes. The save button writes the current view, with the divider and labels, as a PNG.

Which side is which?

The left side shows the first picture labelled Before, and the right side shows the second labelled After.

Is this useful for checking compression?

Yes. Put the original on one side and the compressed copy on the other, then zoom your screen in to look for artefacts.
