Sitemap for two pages
https://example.co.uk/ and https://example.co.uk/about, one per line
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <urlset xmlns="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9"> <url><loc>https://example.co.uk/</loc></url> <url><loc>https://example.co.uk/about</loc></url> </urlset>
Each address sits inside a loc tag in the standard sitemap namespace, which search engines expect.
Address with an ampersand
https://example.co.uk/shop?colour=red&size=M
<url><loc>https://example.co.uk/shop?colour=red&size=M</loc></url>
The ampersand is written as & because XML reserves that character, which the tool does automatically.
Sitemap XML Generator について
A sitemap is a simple list of the pages on your website, written as an XML file. Search engines use it to help them find your pages more easily, especially new pages or pages that are hard to reach through ordinary links. Building one by hand means typing each address into the right tags, remembering to write special symbols such as ampersands in the correct form, and keeping the file tidy as the site grows. This tool does that work for you. Paste your page addresses, one per line, and the XML appears straight away, ready to copy or download.
Each address goes on its own line, and the tool checks that it is a complete web address starting with https:// or http://. Any line that does not pass is listed with the reason, so you can correct it and paste the list again. If your list mixes addresses from different domain names, the first valid address sets the domain, and any address on another domain is left out, because a sitemap should describe one website only. The optional last changed date, change frequency and priority are applied to every address in the list. Lists over 50,000 addresses are split into several files, and you can choose each file from the menu before copying or downloading it.

よくあるご質問
Do I need to add the date, frequency and priority?
No. All three are optional and you can leave them empty. When they are filled in, the same values are added to every address in the list. Many people leave the change frequency and priority alone, because search engines decide for themselves how often to visit a page. A last changed date is usually the most useful of the three when you know the date a page was updated.
Why was one of my addresses skipped?
A line is skipped when it is not a complete web address, when it does not start with https:// or http://, when it is longer than 2,048 characters, when it has a hash symbol and a section name at the end, or when it uses a different domain name from the first address in the list. The skipped lines box gives the line number and the reason, so you can correct the line and paste the list again.
What happens if I have more than 50,000 addresses?
The tool splits the list into several files, each with up to 50,000 addresses. Choose a file from the menu to see its XML, then copy it or download it. The files are named sitemap-1.xml, sitemap-2.xml and so on. Upload each file to your website and keep them together in one folder, which makes them easier to manage as your site changes over time.
Why does the XML show codes such as & in my addresses?
XML uses a few symbols to mark up the file, so some characters must be written in a standard form. An ampersand becomes &, and the less than and greater than signs, quote marks and apostrophes are changed in the same way. The address still points to the same page. This is normal and is the reason the file looks different from the list you pasted.
Where should I put the sitemap file?
Place the file at the top level of your website, so its address looks like https://www.example.co.uk/sitemap.xml. Then submit that address in the search engine tools for your site. Only list addresses from the same website as the sitemap file, because search engines expect every entry to belong to the same domain name.
