Overtime Pay Calculator について

An overtime pay calculator estimates how much you earn for a week when some of your hours earn a higher rate of pay. In the UK there is no law that sets a standard overtime rate, so pay for extra hours depends on your contract, but many employers pay time and a half, which is 1.5 times the usual rate. This calculator counts your hours in day order, pays the first hours up to your weekly limit at your normal rate, and pays the rest at the overtime rate you choose.

The day by day table shows how the overtime builds up across the week. Once the weekly limit is reached, every further hour counts at the overtime rate, so a shift on a Saturday can be all overtime even if the earlier days were normal. Results are shown in pounds and pence. Treat them as an estimate only, because tax, National Insurance, pension and other deductions are not included, and your contract may set its own rules.

よくあるご質問

What is time and a half?

Time and a half means paying 1.5 times the usual hourly rate. If your rate is £12.00 an hour, time and a half is £18.00 an hour. Double time is two times the rate. Your contract or employer sets the overtime rate, so enter the multiplier they use. This calculator accepts any multiplier from 1 to 5.

How is overtime worked out across a week?

The calculator adds up the hours day by day, starting from Monday. Hours up to the weekly limit count at your basic rate, and hours after the limit count at the overtime rate. For example, with a limit of 40 hours and 46 hours worked, the last six hours are overtime. Your employer may use a different method, so compare the result with your payslip.

Does the weekly total include tax?

No. The total is the gross pay before any deductions. Income tax, National Insurance and pension contributions are not taken off, so the amount you take home will be lower. Gross pay is the figure most payslips show before those amounts come off. If you need your take home pay, check it with your payroll team or use a tax calculator.

What if I only work a few overtime hours?

The calculator still applies the overtime rate to any hours above your weekly limit, even if there are only a few. For example, if you work 41 hours with a 40 hour limit, the single extra hour counts at the overtime rate. Enter the hours exactly as shown on your timesheet, using quarter hours where needed, such as 7.25 for seven hours and fifteen minutes.

Is overtime the same as holiday pay?

Not always. Holiday pay in the UK is calculated in a different way for workers with regular hours and for those with irregular hours, and it can include overtime. This calculator only works out pay for the hours you enter for one week. For holiday pay or sick pay, check the rules that apply to your job or ask your employer.
