Valtrinity vs Convertio

Convertio does one job at very large scale: it converts files between formats. Its home page says it supports more than 300 file formats and more than 25,600 different conversions. Valtrinity is a different kind of site. It has a set of file and image converters, but they are a small part of a collection that also holds calculators, text, PDF, developer and website tools.

Valtrinity is a rival of Convertio, so weigh our view with that in mind. We read their pages on 18 October 2026 and list every one at the bottom of this page. The numbers on Convertio's own pages do not always agree with each other, and we point out where. If you need to convert video, audio, ebooks or unusual formats, Convertio is the stronger choice and we say so below.

What each site converts

Convertio's home page lists video, audio, document and image converters and an OCR service, and says it supports more than 300 formats and more than 25,600 conversions. It also offers a conversion API. We cannot match that range. Valtrinity does not convert between general audio, video, ebook or archive formats.

What Valtrinity does convert is the common work: PNG, JPG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF and SVG images, JPG and PNG to PDF, PDF to JPG, PDF to text, PDF to Word and Word to PDF, video to MP3 or WAV, video compression, pictures to an animated GIF, subtitles from SRT to VTT, and data formats such as JSON, CSV, YAML, SQL and Markdown. Our PDF to Word keeps text and headings but not columns, tables or pictures, and our Image to Text reads English only.

Limits and prices

Convertio's own pages disagree on the limit for people without a plan. Its terms of use give a file limit of 100 MB, 2 conversions at once and 10 conversion minutes in any 24 hours, while its home page shows a maximum file size of 1 GB at the upload box. We cannot tell which applies to you today. Its pricing page lists four plans, starting at $11.99 a month or $6.99 a month billed yearly for 1 GB files and 1,000 conversion credits a month, rising to 10 GB files on the third plan and 20 GB on a custom plan. Every plan lists unlimited conversion minutes per day and pages without adverts. Its terms list different plan prices from its pricing page, so check the price at checkout.

Valtrinity's file and image tools need no plan and have no daily count. We do not publish a table of file size limits, so test a large file before you rely on it. Unlimited is £29.99 a month or £249 a year, with a 3-day trial, and it is for the extras: server lookups, writing runs and removing adverts. Because the two plans cover different things, they are not like for like. A pass for one tool costs £1.49 for 24 hours.

Sign-up, adverts and file handling

Convertio shows a Sign Up link beside its upload box, and every plan lists pages without adverts, which suggests the version without a plan carries adverts. We did not find whether an account is required for basic use. Its home page says uploaded files are deleted instantly and converted files after 24 hours.

Valtrinity shows adverts on tool pages unless you have Unlimited. Most tools need no account, and an account raises the daily lookup allowance from 5 to 10.

Languages and who runs each site

Convertio lists 17 languages in its language menu, including Arabic, Thai and Vietnamese. Valtrinity offers menus, buttons and headings in nine: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Polish and Japanese. The explanation under each tool stays in English.

Convertio's terms say its services are provided by Convertio Limited, a company registered in Cyprus. Valtrinity is run by Granwel Technologies LTD, a UK company. We have not tested either site with a screen reader, so we make no claim about assistive technology.
