About UCAS Tariff Points Calculator

A UCAS Tariff points calculator adds up the points for your qualifications. The UCAS Tariff gives each grade of many Level 3 qualifications a number of points so that universities can compare different routes into higher education. At A level an A* is worth 56 points, an A 48, a B 40, a C 32, a D 24 and an E 16. AS levels, the Extended Project, Scottish Highers and Advanced Highers, BTEC Nationals and T Levels have their own tables.

Add a row for each qualification, choose the grade and enter how many you have. The total is the sum of the points. Most course entry requirements are given as grades, such as AAB, and some are given in points, so always check what each course asks for. The points here come from the UCAS Tariff tables for 2026 entry. An AS level taken alongside full A levels may be counted differently, so for an application use the calculator on the UCAS website.
