About SVG Blob Generator
Blobs are the soft, irregular shapes that sit behind photos, frame buttons and add personality to a plain background. Drawing one by hand takes patience, and most of the results look lopsided. This generator builds each blob from points around a circle and joins them with a smooth closed curve, so every shape comes out rounded and complete.
Set the number of points and how much they wander from the circle. Press the button for a new shape, or type a seed to rebuild one you noted earlier. The result is a small SVG file with a single path, ready to paste into a page or to open in a drawing tool.
How to use SVG Blob Generator
- Set the size and the number of points.
- Set the randomness, from a perfect circle up to a very uneven shape.
- Press the button for a new shape, or enter a seed.
- Copy the SVG or just the path data.
Common uses
- Placing a soft shape behind a profile photo
- Decorating a landing page background
- Making unusual button or badge shapes
- Animating between two shapes using their path data
Frequently asked questions
Why does a seed give the same shape each time?
The generator uses a repeatable random number sequence started from your seed. The same seed, points and randomness always give the same blob, so shapes are easy to save and share.
How many points should I use?
Between five and eight gives a natural look. Three or four gives a simple rounded triangle or square, and more than ten starts to look like a lumpy circle.
Can I animate between two blobs?
Yes, if both have the same number of points. Animating the path data from one to the other works smoothly in SVG, because each segment has the same structure.
Why is zero randomness a circle?
With no randomness every point sits the same distance from the centre, and joining them with smooth curves gives an almost perfect circle.
