About Reading Goal Calculator
Reading goals are easier to keep when they are turned into something small and daily. This reading goal calculator answers three common questions. How many pages a day do I need to finish this book by a certain date? When will I finish if I read a set number of pages a day? And what does a goal of 24 books in a year mean for each day?
For a book you must finish by a date, enter the pages in the book, the pages you have read, the start date and the finish date. It counts only the days you read, so if you read only at weekends it divides the pages between those days. If you also say how many pages you read in an hour it gives the minutes you need each day. Pages a day are always rounded up, so you finish on time and not a page short. The yearly goal assumes 52 weeks and the number of days a week you pick.

Frequently asked questions
How many pages a day is a good aim?
For most adults 20 pages a day is about 25 to 40 minutes, and that adds up to around 7,300 pages a year, about 24 books of 300 pages.
Are the start and finish days both counted?
Yes. A reading day on the start date or on the finish date counts if you ticked that day of the week.
How do I find my pages in an hour?
Time yourself reading for 10 minutes, count the pages, and multiply by six. Most people read 30 to 60 pages an hour depending on the book.
What does the pace option tell me?
Given the pages a day you read on your reading days, it tells you the date you will finish, counting from the start date.
Why does it round up?
If you need 12.4 pages a day, reading 12 would leave you short. Rounding up makes sure you finish on or before the date.
