About Blur Image
Sometimes a picture is perfect except for one detail: a face in the background, a number plate, an address on a letter or a name on a screen. This tool lets you blur just that part. Drag a box over the area, set how strong the blur should be and the detail underneath can no longer be read. You can add as many boxes as you need and undo the last one if you get it wrong.
You can also blur the whole picture, which is useful for soft backgrounds, for a frosted look behind text or for a quick preview image. The strength is measured against the size of the picture, so a setting that looks right on a small photo looks right on a large one too. Once you are happy, save the result as PNG, JPG or WebP at the original size.

Frequently asked questions
Can a blurred area be undone?
A strong blur removes the detail from the saved picture, so it cannot be brought back from the new file. Use a high strength for anything sensitive, and for text consider the pixelate tool or a solid block as well. Always keep your original file in case you need it again.
How strong should I make the blur?
Increase the strength until you cannot make out any letters or features, then add a little more. Small text needs a stronger blur than a face in a crowd. Look at the preview at full size before saving.
Does blurring reduce the quality of the rest of the picture?
No. Only the boxes you draw are blurred. The rest of the picture is saved as it was. For the best result save as PNG, which does not add any extra loss.
Can I blur more than one place?
Yes. Each time you drag a box it is added to the picture. Use "Undo last area" to remove the most recent one, or "Clear all areas" to start again.
What size of picture can I use?
Most photos work, including large camera pictures. Pictures over 100 megapixels are refused. Very large pictures may take a second or two to update when you move the slider.
