AI Content Detector

Paste at least 300 characters and see a low, mixed or high likelihood with the signals behind it. It is a rough guide only.

No AI detector is reliable. This result is only an estimate and it can be wrong, especially for short, formal or non-native writing. Never use it to accuse anyone of anything.

Each run uses one of your daily AI runs.

Worked examples

Evenly phrased text

(A 400 character paragraph in which every sentence starts with "It is important to" and has about the same length.)

For example: Band: High likelihood of machine writing. / Signals: repeated sentence openings; very even sentence length; stock phrases.

An example only, and an estimate that could be wrong. Never use a result to accuse anyone.

Varied personal writing

(A 500 character paragraph with an anecdote, short and long sentences and some unusual word choices.)

For example: Band: Low likelihood of machine writing. / Signals: varied sentence length; personal detail; uneven phrasing.

An example only. Human writing can still be flagged, and machine writing can still pass.

About AI Content Detector

This tool gives a rough estimate of whether a text reads as if a machine wrote it. Paste at least 300 characters and you get a band, low, mixed or high likelihood of machine writing, along with the signals that led to it, such as repeated phrasing or very even sentence lengths.

Please read this carefully: no AI detector is reliable, including this one. Human writing is often flagged and machine writing is often missed, and short, formal or non-native English is flagged more often. The result is a prompt to think about a text, never evidence. Never use it to accuse a student, employee or anyone else of anything. If a decision matters, talk to the writer and look at how the work was produced.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is it?

Not very. No detector is reliable. It gives an estimate that can be wrong in both directions, so never treat it as proof.

Can I use it to accuse someone of cheating?

No. A result from this tool must never be used to accuse anyone. Talk to the person and look at the evidence of how the work was made.

Why is a minimum of 300 characters needed?

Short samples do not contain enough to show any pattern, so results on them would mean even less.

How many times can I use it each day?

You can run it 3 times a day without an account, 10 times a day with an account and up to 100 times a day with Unlimited, within a monthly AI allowance that is shared by all the AI tools. Each check uses one run, and the number left today is shown under the button.
