Sobre Working Days Calculator
A working days calculator finds the date that is a set number of working days before or after another date. It skips weekends automatically, and it also skips bank holidays in England and Wales unless you ask it not to. That matters when a deadline is counted in working days and a holiday falls in the middle of the period. Choose a start date, pick whether to add or subtract, enter the number of working days, and the result date appears straight away with the weekday written out.
The calculator includes the England and Wales bank holidays for 2026 and 2027, which are listed on the page so you can check them. If you want every weekday counted, tick the box to ignore bank holidays. The start date itself is never counted, so adding one working day to a Friday gives the following Monday. Results are a guide. Some organisations and contracts use their own closure days, so check with them if the exact count matters, and keep a record of the date you agreed.

Perguntas frequentes
How does the calculator count working days?
It moves one day at a time from the start date, skipping Saturdays and Sundays and, unless you ask it to ignore them, England and Wales bank holidays. Each remaining day counts as one working day, and the calculator stops on the day that completes the number you entered. The start date itself is not counted, so the first working day is the next working day after it.
What happens if the start date is a weekend?
The start date does not need to be a working day. If you add three working days to a Saturday, counting begins with Monday, so the result is Wednesday. Subtracting three working days from a Saturday counts back from Friday, so that result is also Wednesday. Both answers follow the usual way of counting from the nearest working day.
Which bank holidays are included?
The list covers New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, the early May, spring and summer bank holidays, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, including substitute days when those fall on a weekend. These are for England and Wales in 2026 and 2027 and are listed on the page. Scotland and Northern Ireland have different holidays, and years outside 2026 and 2027 are not built in, so check those dates by hand.
What is a substitute day?
When Christmas Day or Boxing Day falls on a weekend, the bank holiday is moved to a weekday, known as a substitute day. In 2026, Boxing Day falls on a Saturday, so Monday 28 December is the bank holiday. In 2027, Christmas Day is a Saturday and Boxing Day is a Sunday, so the holidays move to Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 December.
Can I use this for contracts or legal deadlines?
The calculator gives a working day count based on the rules described here, which is useful for planning. It is not legal advice. Contracts, policies and statutory deadlines can define working days differently, for example by counting only particular hours or by excluding days agreed between the parties. Always check the wording of the agreement that sets the deadline.
