Choosing a winner from a list
Names Asha, Ben, Chloe and Dev entered, one spin
One name from the four, chosen at random. The wheel shows the result, but the winner is decided before it stops turning.
Every remaining name has an equal chance on each spin.
Choosing several people in turn
The same four names with removal turned on, spun three times
Three different names picked in turn, with each winner removed from the wheel. The fourth name is left.
Removal means nobody is picked twice, which suits rota or prize draws.
O narzędziu Random Name Picker
A random name picker helps a group choose a winner fairly and quickly. Paste the names into the box, one per line, and each name gets its own slice of the wheel. Press the spin button and the wheel turns before it settles on a winner, which suits a raffle, a classroom turn, a rota or a team game where nobody wants to be picked first. The winner is chosen before the wheel moves, so the animation is only the way the result is shown, and every name has an equal chance.
You can pick more than one winner by setting the number of winners. With the remove option on, each winner leaves the wheel, so a name cannot win twice, which suits prize draws and taking turns. Turn it off to allow repeat wins, for example when a name should stay in the running for every round. The start again button restores your full list and clears the winners, so you can run another draw without retyping anything. The winners list keeps them in the order they were picked, with the full name of each one.

Najczęstsze pytania
Is the wheel rigged?
No. The winner is chosen by a high-quality random source before the wheel starts to turn. The animation then rotates the wheel so that the chosen name stops under the pointer. Every remaining name has the same chance of being chosen on each spin. You can check this yourself by running a few draws with a short list of names and watching the results over several rounds.
How many names can the wheel show?
The wheel is easiest to read with up to about thirty names, because each slice needs room for its label. Long names are shortened on the wheel, but the full name always appears in the winners list. You can paste a longer list if you need one, although the slices will be narrow. For a very large list, split it into groups and run a draw for each group.
What if I have fewer names than winners?
With removal on, each winner leaves the wheel, so you cannot pick more winners than there are names. The tool shows a message when no names are left to spin. If you need more winners than you have names, turn removal off, and names can then be picked again on each spin. Let everyone know that repeat wins are possible before the draw starts.
Can I start a new draw with the same names?
Yes. Press start again to restore the full list you typed and clear the winners, then spin for a new set. The names stay in the box while you work, so you can edit the list and spin again without retyping it. Refreshing the page brings back the sample names, so copy your own list somewhere else first if you want to keep it.
Why does the wheel spin for a few seconds?
The spin gives the wheel time to turn, which makes the draw easy to follow, and then it settles smoothly on the winner. If you have asked for reduced motion in your settings, the winner appears straight away with no animation. The result is the same either way. A spin takes about four and a half seconds when the animation is on.
