O narzędziu Morse Code Translator

A Morse code translator converts ordinary writing into a pattern of short and long signals, and turns those signals back into words. Morse code was designed for telegraph operators and is still learned by radio enthusiasts, scouts and anyone who enjoys a classic code, because it is simple to tap out with a single key and easy to recognise once the patterns are familiar. This tool works in both directions. Type in the text box to see the dots and dashes appear in the Morse box, or type dots and dashes to read the message in plain letters.

Letters are separated by a single space and words by a slash, which is the usual way to write Morse on paper and matches most printed charts. Numbers, common punctuation and the letters A to Z are all supported. Because Morse code has no capital letters, anything decoded comes back in capitals, so you may want to change the case afterwards. If a character has no Morse equivalent, such as an accented letter, the tool tells you which characters were left out, so nothing disappears without a note.

Najczęstsze pytania

How do I write a message in Morse code?

Type the message in the Text box and the Morse code appears in the box beside it straight away. Each letter is shown as a group of dots and dashes, separated by a space, and each word is separated by a slash. Numbers and common punctuation are included, so a sentence such as Meet at 6 pm gives a complete Morse version.

How do I translate Morse code back into text?

Paste or type the dots and dashes into the Morse code box. Put a space between each letter and a slash between each word, and the message appears in capital letters in the Text box. If part of the code is not recognised, the tool names the piece it could not read so you can correct it quickly.

Why is the decoded text in capital letters?

Morse code has no separate signals for upper and lower case, so every letter is shown in capitals when it is decoded. You can change the case afterwards with a case converter if you need sentence case or lower case. The meaning of the message does not change when the capitals are altered.

What happens to characters that have no Morse code?

Some characters, such as accented letters, emoji and many symbols, do not have an international Morse code. The tool leaves them out of the translation and shows a note listing them underneath the box. Replace them with the nearest plain letter if you need the whole message in Morse, for example writing e for the letter e with an accent.

How long is a dash compared with a dot?

In the international standard, a dash lasts three times as long as a dot. The gap between parts of the same letter is one dot long, the gap between letters is three dots, and the gap between words is seven dots. Written Morse, as shown here, uses spaces and slashes to show these gaps, so you can read the message without listening to any signal.
