Text watermark on a photo
A 1200 pixel wide photo with the text Sample set to 10 per cent size
The same photo with the word Sample at a letter height of 120 pixels, which is 10 per cent of the 1,200 pixel width.
The size is a percentage of the picture width, so the watermark scales with the photo.
Logo watermark in the corner
A 1200 pixel wide photo with a logo set to 20 per cent width
The photo with the logo placed at a width of 240 pixels.
For a logo, the size sets the width of the logo, so the mark stays in proportion.
Informazioni su Add Watermark to Image
A watermark marks a picture as yours, whether that is your name, a website address or a logo. This tool adds either text or an image to a picture and shows the result immediately. Pick one of nine positions, set how strong the mark is with the opacity slider, and choose its size as a share of the picture width so it looks right at any resolution. Choose a font style and colour for text, or upload a logo, and the preview shows exactly how the finished picture will look.
For stronger protection, turn on tiling to repeat the mark in a staggered pattern across the whole picture, and turn it slightly so it is harder to crop out. The preview uses a smaller copy for speed, and the downloaded file is made from your full-size original, so the finished watermark matches what you saw while keeping every detail of the photo. You can try different settings as often as you like, because the original picture is never changed or overwritten by the tool.

Domande frequenti
Can I use my logo as a watermark?
Yes. Choose the image option and select your logo. A PNG or WebP with a transparent background works best because no box appears around it. Set the size as a percentage of the picture width and lower the opacity so the picture stays pleasant to view.
What is tile mode?
Tile mode repeats the watermark in rows across the whole picture, staggering every other row. The spacing slider controls the gap between marks and the turn slider tilts them. It is much harder to remove than a single mark in a corner.
Will the watermark look the same in the saved file?
Yes. Size, gaps and positions are all relative to the width of the picture, so the preview and the full-size file match. Only the number of pixels differs, which means the saved version has the full detail of your original.
Does a watermark stop people copying my picture?
It discourages casual copying and shows who made the picture, but it cannot stop a determined person who edits it out. For valuable work, share smaller versions, use tiling and keep the unmarked original somewhere only you can reach.
What colour and opacity should I use?
White text at 40 to 60 percent opacity is readable on most photos. For bright pictures use a dark colour. A lower opacity is less distracting, while a higher opacity protects better. Check the preview on the busiest part of the picture.
