1. Overview

This page explains when you can cancel or get a refund from valtrinity.com. It covers every way of buying:

  • Unlimited, monthly (£29.99 a month) and yearly (£249 a year);
  • tool packs: the SEO pack (£17.99 a month) and the Network and domain pack (£12.99 a month);
  • single tool passes (£3.99 a week);
  • 24 hour passes (£1.49, one time);
  • the single transcript (£0.99 per file of up to 90 minutes);
  • Team, Business and Enterprise plans, which are invoiced.

Please read this page with our Terms of Service and Fair Use Policy. All of these are digital services or digital content, so your rights depend on how and when the service is delivered.

2. The purchase confirmation email

When you buy, we email you a purchase confirmation. It repeats the consent to immediate delivery that you gave at checkout and the cancellation terms on this page, including the 14 day right to cancel and how it is affected by immediate delivery. Keep it for your records. It does not reduce any right you have by law.

3. The trial

If you start Unlimited with a 3 day trial, you are not charged during the trial and nothing is charged if you cancel before it ends. Stripe emails you before the trial ends. You can cancel at any time through the billing link in the account menu. If you do not cancel, the plan starts when the trial ends and your card is charged. Your refund rights then work as set out below.

4. Your right to cancel within 14 days (consumers)

If you are a consumer, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 normally give you 14 days to cancel a contract for a service or digital content. For a plan, pack or pass, the 14 days start on the day the contract begins.

If you want to use the service straight away, we ask you to confirm two things before you buy:

  • that you expressly ask us to start providing the service immediately, during the 14 day cancellation period;
  • that you understand that if you cancel during that period you must pay us a proportionate amount for what you have used up to the time you tell us you are cancelling.

If you cancel within the 14 days, we refund what you were charged, less a proportionate amount for the use you have had. The proportionate amount is worked out from the time elapsed in the period you were charged for, compared with the full period (a week, a month or a year). We record the time you gave this consent.

To cancel, tell us clearly by email to [email protected], or use the billing link. You can use the model cancellation form if you wish, but you do not have to.

5. Unlimited: monthly and yearly

Unlimited renews automatically, each month or each year depending on what you chose, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time through the billing link in the account menu. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep access until the end of the period you have already been charged for.

Monthly: apart from the 14 day right in Section 4 and the cases in Sections 9 and 10, we do not refund part of a month.

Yearly: apart from the 14 day right in Section 4 and the cases in Sections 9 and 10, we do not refund the unused part of a year after the 14 days have ended. If you cancel part way through the year, your plan runs to the end of the year you bought.

If you cannot find the billing link, email [email protected] and we will cancel for you.

6. Tool packs

A tool pack (the SEO pack or the Network and domain pack) renews each month until you cancel and is treated like monthly Unlimited. The 14 day right applies to your first purchase of a pack. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access to the end of the month you have been charged for. We do not refund part of a month after the 14 days.

7. Single tool passes

A single tool pass renews each week until you cancel. The 14 day right applies in the same way, and because a pass period is a week, the proportionate amount for use is usually most or all of the week once you have used the tool. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep access to the end of the week you have been charged for. We do not refund part of a week.

A 24 hour pass is a single payment and does not renew. It starts as soon as we receive your payment. Before you pay, we ask you to confirm that you want it to start now, and that you understand you lose your right to cancel once it has started. By confirming, you give your express consent. We record the time of that consent, and the purchase confirmation email repeats it. So a 24 hour pass cannot be refunded once it has started. There is one exception. If the service is faulty or not as described, you are entitled to a remedy, which can include a refund. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.

8. Single transcript (£0.99)

A transcript is delivered as soon as you open it. Before you pay, we ask you to confirm that you want delivery to start now, and that you understand you lose your right to cancel once the transcript has been opened. By confirming, you give your express consent. We record the time of that consent, and the purchase confirmation email repeats it.

So a single transcript cannot be refunded once you have opened it. There is one exception. If the transcript is faulty or not as described, you are entitled to a remedy, which can include a refund. For example, the transcript belongs to a different file, or it is empty or badly broken. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.

Transcripts are created automatically. Small errors in wording, punctuation or speaker labels are not a fault. The limits of accuracy are explained in our Terms. If you have not opened the transcript, you can cancel within 14 days and we will refund the price.

9. Team, Business and Enterprise plans

These plans are for businesses and are invoiced. The 14 day consumer right does not apply to business customers. To cancel, email [email protected] before the next invoice period starts; the plan then ends at the end of the period already invoiced and we will not invoice you again. We do not refund an invoice for a period that has started, except for a fault we cannot fix within a reasonable time, a plan we end when you are not at fault, or where your order says otherwise. If an invoice is wrong, tell us and we will issue a credit note.

10. Faults and problems with the service

If the site is not working properly, or a feature is not as described, please tell us. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply to digital content and services. If we cannot fix a fault in a reasonable time, you may be entitled to a refund or a reduction in price.

If we remove a tool that you have a pass for, we will refund the unused part of the current period in proportion to the time left. If we end your account and it is not your fault, we will refund the unused part of your current plan. Some items cannot be checked or transcribed, for example because a website blocks our requests. That is not a fault in our service, but please contact us if you were charged for a result that was not produced.

11. How to ask for a refund

Email [email protected]. Please include:

  • the email address on your account;
  • the plan, pack, pass or transcript involved;
  • the date of the payment;
  • a short description of what went wrong, or a clear statement that you want to cancel under your 14 day right.

We will reply as soon as we can and tell you what happens next.

12. How long refunds take

If we agree a refund, or you are entitled to one, we will make it within 14 days. For a cancellation within the 14 days, this is 14 days from the day we hear that you want to cancel. For a faulty item, it is 14 days from the day we agree you are entitled to a refund. We refund to the original payment method. Your bank or card provider may take a few more days to show the money in your account.

13. When we may refuse a refund

We may refuse a refund only where the law allows. For example, we may refuse where the 14 day right has ended, where a single transcript has been opened with your express consent and you have lost the right to cancel, where there is no fault, or where you are a business customer and your order does not provide for one. This does not take away any right you have by law.
