A VAT registered invoice
Two items at £12.50 each with VAT at 20 per cent
Net £25.00, VAT £5.00 and total £30.00, on an A4 page with your details, the client and the dates.
Amounts are worked out in pence, so each line and the totals round to the nearest penny.
Invoice without VAT
Three items at £9.99 each, with VAT not applied
Total £29.97, with no VAT line shown.
If you are not VAT registered, the invoice shows the total without a VAT rate on each line.
Sobre UK Invoice Generator
This invoice maker produces a clean A4 PDF that you can email to a client straight away. Enter your name or business, address and contact details, the client, an invoice number and dates, then add as many lines as you need with a quantity and unit price. If you are VAT registered, tick the box to add your VAT number and choose a rate for each line. Long descriptions wrap onto extra lines, and a long invoice runs on to further pages with the headings repeated.
Totals are worked out for you in whole pence. VAT is added up for each rate used, so a mix of 20 percent, 5 percent and zero rated lines is shown clearly. Bank details with sort code and account number sit below the totals, with a reference for your client to quote, and a notes box takes payment terms or a thank you. A logo in PNG or JPG can be added to the top left. Nothing is kept once you leave the page.

Preguntas frecuentes
How do I create an invoice as a PDF?
Fill in your details, the client, the invoice number and dates, add your lines and bank details, then select Create invoice PDF. A tidy A4 document is made for you and can be downloaded and attached to an email. Nothing is stored, so keep a copy of the file yourself.
Does it work out VAT for me?
If you tick that you are registered for VAT, each line gets a rate of 20, 5, 0 percent or no VAT. The VAT is totalled for each rate, rounded to the nearest penny, and added to the net total. Always check the result suits your own VAT scheme before you send it.
Can I add my logo?
Yes. Choose a PNG or JPG file and it is shown at the top left of the invoice, scaled to fit within a small area. Other picture types such as WebP and GIF are converted automatically. Without a logo, your business name is shown there in large lettering instead.
Does my information get saved?
No. Nothing is kept once you leave or reload the page, so the form starts empty each visit. Download the PDF and keep it with your records. If you invoice the same client often, keep a copy of the last invoice and copy the details across.
What does a UK invoice need to show?
The tool includes the usual details: your name and address, the client, a unique invoice number, the date, a description of what was supplied, amounts, and your VAT number if registered. Rules vary by business, so check with HMRC or an accountant if you are unsure what yours needs.
