1. What cookies and similar storage are
Cookies are small text files that a website asks a browser to keep. Websites also use similar technologies, such as local storage and session storage, which hold a small amount of information for the site. Local storage stays until it is cleared. Session storage is cleared when you close the tab. In this policy we call all of these cookies and similar technologies. A cookie set by the site you are visiting is a first party cookie. A cookie set by another company is a third party cookie.
2. In short
- We use cookies and storage that make the site work or remember a choice you made. They do not need your consent.
- Analytics cookies from Google Analytics are set only if you agree in the cookie message. We also count visits on our own servers without cookies (see our Privacy policy).
- Advertising cookies are set by Google, only on tool pages, only for visitors without a plan, and only as your choice in Google's consent message allows.
- You can change your choices at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer.

An older browser storage item called vt_consent is removed when a page loads. We no longer use it.
3.2 Set by Google (advertising and consent)
These appear only on tool pages for visitors without a plan, and only as your choices allow. Subscribers see no ads and no consent message. There are no ads on the Video Transcriber page.

Google may set other cookies as well when you agree. Its list and durations are at policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.
3.3 Set by Google (analytics)
These are set only if you agree to analytics cookies in the cookie message. Without your agreement they are not set and the analytics script is not loaded. Where Google Analytics is used, IP addresses are anonymised and the data is shared with Google, which processes it in the US under the EU US Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension.

3.4 Other companies
- Sign in with Google. If you choose to sign in with Google, Google may set its own cookies while you do so.
- Stripe. When you buy something, the payment form is run by Stripe, which may set its own cookies to take the payment and prevent fraud. We do not control them.
- Cloudflare Turnstile. The human check on sign up, login, password reset and the enquiry form is run by Cloudflare. It receives a token and your IP address. Cloudflare's own terms apply to what it stores.
4. The consent platform
We use Google's certified consent management platform (Privacy and messaging) to ask for your choice in the UK, the EEA and the US states that require a message. Google Consent Mode v2 starts with every purpose denied. The ad script and the analytics script load only after you have made a choice. If you agree to personalised ads, Google and its partners may set cookies to personalise and measure ads. If you decline, you may still see ads, but they are limited ads that are not personalised using cookies.
5. Changing your choices
Consent is not a condition of using the tools. You can use valtrinity.com whether or not you accept personalised advertising. Declining does not remove ads, but an active plan does.
- Use the Cookie settings link in the footer to reopen Google's message and change or withdraw your consent at any time.
- You can also manage cookies in the settings of the browser you use: most browsers let you see, delete and block cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop you staying signed in or using the Video Transcriber.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.com.
6. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when we add or change the cookies and storage we use, and change the date at the top. We ask for your consent before setting any analytics cookie.
