Sobre Download Time Calculator

This calculator estimates how long a download or upload takes. Enter the size of the file and the speed of the connection and the time is shown in days, hours, minutes and seconds.

Connection speeds are quoted in bits a second and file sizes in bytes, so the tool does the conversion for you. Real transfers are usually a little slower than the headline speed because of overheads and the speed of the server, so treat the answer as the best case.

Cómo usar Download Time Calculator

Preguntas frecuentes

Why is my download slower than the calculator says?

The speed you pay for is a maximum. Wi-Fi, other devices, the server and network overheads all slow a real transfer.

What is the difference between Mbps and MB/s?

Mbps is megabits a second and MB/s is megabytes a second. There are 8 bits in a byte, so 100 Mbps is 12.5 MB/s.

Which size units are used?

Decimal units, where a gigabyte is one billion bytes, as internet providers use. Computers may show slightly different sizes.

Can I use it for uploads?

Yes. Enter your upload speed, which is often much lower than your download speed.
