Veelgestelde vragen

How much is the State Pension for 2026/27?

The full new State Pension is £241.30 a week, which is £12,547.60 over 52 weeks. You usually need 35 qualifying years of National Insurance for the full amount, and your own forecast on GOV.UK shows what you will get.

What is the withdrawal rate?

It is the share of your pot you take out each year. At 4% you need a pot 25 times the income you want from it. It is a rule of thumb, not a guarantee, and a lower rate is more cautious if you want the money to last.

What if I retire before State Pension age?

Your savings must then cover the full income until the State Pension starts, and the tool adds that amount to the pot you need.

Why are the figures in today’s money?

Using today’s money means the income you ask for is what it would buy now, which is easier to judge than a larger number in the future.
