This tool strips emoji out of text. Paste a social post, a customer message, a product title or a whole document and every emoji is taken out, including skin tone variants, flags, keycap numbers and joined emoji such as families and couples. The message under the result says how many were removed, or tells you none were found.

Everything else is left exactly as it was. Letters in every language, digits, punctuation and symbols that are normally drawn as text, such as the copyright, registered and trademark signs and arrows, are kept. Only when a symbol has been styled as an emoji is it taken out. The invisible joining characters that glue emoji together are removed too, so no stray marks are left behind.

Removing an emoji from the middle of a sentence can leave a double space, so there are two options. You can swap each emoji for a space rather than nothing, which stops words that were separated only by an emoji running together, and you can tidy repeated spaces, which collapses them to one and trims spaces from the ends of lines. Indentation at the start of a line is kept.
