Uploaded files are deleted as soon as the transcript is ready and always within 24 hours, and transcripts are deleted after 30 days, or sooner if you delete them. Which file types can I upload?
MP3, MP4, M4A, WAV, WEBM, OGG, FLAC, AAC and MOV all work. If a video file cannot be read, save its sound as an MP3 or WAV file and upload that instead.
How long can a recording be?
Up to 90 minutes and 500 MB for a single file. With Unlimited you can upload files up to 180 minutes, with 600 transcription minutes included each month.
What does it cost?
You see the first 2 minutes of every transcript before you decide. The whole transcript for one file is £0.99. Unlimited is £29.99 a month and includes 600 transcription minutes a month along with the rest of the site.
How long do you keep my files?
The uploaded file is deleted as soon as the transcript is ready, and always within 24 hours. The transcript stays in your account for 30 days so you can come back to it, then it is deleted. You can delete a transcript yourself at any time.
Are my recordings used to train AI?
No. Your files and transcripts are only used to make your transcript. They are not used to train or improve any AI model.
How do speaker labels work?
Each line is marked Speaker 1, Speaker 2 and so on, in the order people first speak. Labels work best when people take turns. They do not name people, so you may want to replace the labels with names after downloading.
What is the difference between SRT and VTT?
Both are caption files with timings. SRT is accepted by most video editors and social video sites. VTT is the format web video players use. TXT is plain text for reading and editing.
How accurate is it?
Clear speech in a quiet room is usually transcribed very accurately. Strong background music, people talking over each other and poor microphones reduce accuracy, so check names and numbers before you publish.
